How to Save PDF Pages as PNG Images

By Zainab Fuzail · Updated October 2026

Sometimes you need a page of a PDF as a picture: to post in a chat, to place on a slide, or to show on a web page. This guide explains how to turn the pages of a PDF into PNG images in your browser and how to keep the downloads tidy.

Step 1: Convert the PDF

  1. Open PDF to Image.
  2. Click “Choose PDF File” and select your document.
  3. Click “Convert to Images” and wait while the pages are processed.
  4. A list of pages appears. Click “Download PNG” next to each page you want.

Each page is saved as its own image, named paperdesk-page-1.png, paperdesk-page-2.png and so on.

Download Only What You Need

You do not have to download every page. If you need one page, click only that button. For a long document, use Split PDF first so the converter works on a smaller file.

About Quality and Size

Pages are created at a high resolution, so text and pictures stay clear. The files can be fairly large, especially for pages full of photos. PNG keeps sharp edges well, which suits documents.

Turning Images Back Into a PDF

Use Image to PDF. It accepts JPG and PNG files and puts each image on its own A4 page. Our guide on turning photos of notes into one PDF explains the steps.
